Judith Walker

The Stomach Ache project has interviewed Judith Walker as part of our study on artists whose work has been influenced by their gastrointestinal system. Judith’s art practice has spanned over 40 years, utilising a range of media, and encompassing multiple public works and residencies, including at UCL Hospital. Recently, Judith’s work has concentrated on health and the human body, prompted by the COVID-19 pandemic and her own chronic health conditions. Her current works explore the complexity and mystery of the human gut, particularly the microbiome, including the pictured work, Gutted 2, representing the human gut spread out forming colourful organic forms.
